Her being sweet is a plus I was lucky to find her. She has no eyes..LOL Her crest is so huge and she is beardless. I can't wait to hatch some of her eggs when she becomes laying age.

Thank you for the info. I have never seen a silkie with out a crest. Is this normal or bad breeding or.....? Also, if a porcelain is bred to a white, what colors can they hatch. I do not know what color parents make up a porcelain.

It will be fun to see what I would get. So the Buff silkie should not be used for breeding? Would they continue to be crestless?

Bred to a silkie with a good crest could improve the crest in offspring but some may still be crestless or have very little. I myself would not use it for breeding but if your just having fun I say go ahead.

I have a 7mo. old white silkie roo who just started crowing. He is very sweet and well behaved. I have no idea if he is breeding quality or not, but I can not keep him and was wondering if there would be a market to sell him. If so, what would be a reasonable asking price? I am in SW FL.
