I have had them drink quite a bit of liquid that way because they just did not want to get up and stand at the water dish. It may take a few tries for her to catch on but once she does she will drink from the dropper. More than needing food, they need the electrolytes so they do not dehydrate. It can make a world of difference once you get some of that into them. Good luck and keep us posted.

I've had to do that with one of mine, it works like a charm.

Bantams! I had heard there were large fowl Silkies in Europe, but didn't know about Australia.

Thats so sad, i only have one alive from my first ever hatch.

I know it's late in the year for this, but I'm hoping to obtain two or three young silkie girls. Just found out that my little 5 month-old silkie girl is a boy - he crowed at me - and I'm hoping for a few girls to keep him company. Problem is that I live in upstate NY - near Albany - and shipping would not likely be too smart this time of year. Do any of you know where I might look in this area?
