Silkie thread!

I have been studying this same idea and because I have one buff chick and don't plan to raise buff, I found that buff and blue will produce black or blue chicks. Now that's according to the "chicken color calculator" http://www.kippenjungle.nl/Overzicht.htm#kipcalculator Maybe the chicks would have leaky color though. Hoping you get a real person to respond to your question!

I also have a partridge chick that looks blue so I'm thinking of that also.

Hey guys, if you have some time I'd absolutely love it if you could check out McMurray Hatchery's female poulty photo contest here, and vote on my photos! The captions of all of my photos will end with "-- by WSF". There are pics of my Buttercups, RIRs, NHRs, Columbian Wyandottes, mixes, other breeds, guinea hens, peahen Iris, and of course my SILKIES! Some cute ones of my White Silkie with her guinea keets.

McMurray also currently has an "Open Class" poultry contest that y'all can enter in also. They said on their blog that they're planning 1 more contest for the year, but they didn't say what it is. (Oh, and you have to register to vote and upload photos if you haven't already, but it's quick, free, & easy.) My birdies and I thank you a lot if you vote for us!
