Thanks anyway, I guess I will wait. I did take it away when I found all the other babies and ran down to Meyer and got it a brooder mate. So who is going to Columbus National Poultry Show?

Hi everyone, I am new to raising silkies. I am really enjoying my little ones. I have 8 full silkies and a silkie cross hen. I am for sure two are roosters (1 Splash and 1 Dark gray or black with a ring of brown around his neck) and I believe my little splash one will be a rooster to, three bluish-black girls, and two adult girls (one is white and grey the other is red and dark brown). Then I have Megan. She is my silkie cross and head over heals in love with my Jap Bantam rooster. I recently purchased some eggs from a fellow BYC member. So I hope to add some buffs and partridge chicks if all goes well. I hope to have have a nice coop built for them next spring. So I would love any ideas on coop designs for silkies. I am very excited about them and that they are so easy going.

I have a question about the buffs. What do you mean when you say that they have smutt?

Thank you,
Tracy

Thank you peepblessed!! Out of my silkies...I only have one that will roost which is only at best a foot off the ground and Megan she roost up with the leghorns. The rest love to pile!
