I've never entered any birds in a show before, in fact, I've never even been to a poultry show. So I have some newbie questions about showing and if someone(s) could take the time to explain I'd be really grateful to them.
#1: To enter your bird in an APA or ABA show, do you have to be a member of either the APA or the ABA?
#2: Can a minor (someone under 18) enter birds or does it have to be an adult? For general showing, not showmanship.
#3: What is the minimum age that a bird can be entered into a show at? (I think I've heard that it's 6 months?)
#4: I read somewhere that birds need to be "coop" trained, or something like that, before going to a show. I know a little about cooping in and out, but do I really need to train the bird or will most birds be okay with it naturally?
#5: Birds have to be tested for certain things before being shown, right? I've heard they can do this at the show? How much does it normally cost?
I can't think of anything else right now, but if I do you can be sure I'll come back and post it LOL.
