Oh of course! It's a club for kids that gets them involved in working with projects that really enrich their life later on. They can participate in many different areas-- like Aerospace/rocketery, Photography, citizenship skills, textiles--like sewing and quilting, Fashion, Cooking/baking, and the list goes on and on! Among those projects are animals like Poultry (any breed--just breed for standard), Swine (pigs), Meat Goats, Milking goats, horsemanship and on and on... Anyway, I signed my son up for this club and we enrolled in a few projects. The club gives you a book that tells you how to go about your project and you keep records, pictures, reports, etc.. But when we go to club meetings, the kids have a great time and it's the parents sitting in the back talking about their "child's" breeding program that the PARENT is working so hard on. Just had to laugh, because it seems like we stress over all the back end of it and the kids get to do the fun stuff.

You have a good dad! Work hard in school AND with your birds and you won't regret it later. It's hard to see down the road of your life, but trust your parents to be looking out for your welfare!

All so educational! I didn't like the photo of the kitchen delicacy though!

It gives me pleasure to hear you liked my project and my way of visualisation the theory.
Indeed all my webpages (there are 7 big pages) are made as 1 big page to scroll down. (in my opinion it's more efficient).
One of the reasons I putted together all this information is to let see the basic color-genetics on chickens is not more difficult to bring in practice as it is to learn the road-codes to can drive savely in traffic.
Just a matter of applying maths ;-)

Yes, I do ship. Chicks from 4-6 weeks old are $15 ea and from 6-8 weeks are $20 ea. A minimum of 6 young chicks and 4 older chicks per box. Shipping is $55.00 I have some gorgeous babies right now and I'm not going to hatch anymore until April and May.

Anyone interested, PM me....

That is amazing work documenting your birds! I will be reading up on your site! And yes, this is similar work to what 4-H likes to encourage the youth to participate in and learn as much as they can. Right now though, my son is just starting to learn what good birds look like and how to pick them out and then deciding what to breed with. He and I are BOTH learning this! But we will be creating a book for him to keep his notes in with pictures, etc. So far, 4-H doesn't encourage the use of a website, I'm sure as things progress over the years, that might change. The starting age is 7 years to join, so this is our first year! My other son is too young to participate in the projects, but he can be a "tag-a-long" ... which just means he can show up for the meetings and learn too! He just can't show. Anyway, I'm very impressed with your site!
