Beth--Thank you so much for the feedback! I'll try to get a picture of her wings fanned out tomorrow. I never noticed that! Thanks for pointing that out! Now I'm very curious as to what her wings will look like! :) If nothing else, she'll be great for our 4-H shows this spring/summer! I want to try a show with her myself, too. :) And of course, we're hoping for some cute babies.

Sonoran, thanks for the critique as well. :) I was just looking at the amount of feathering and had not paid attention to how hard the feathers were. I sure hope it'll be okay!

A few weeks ago, I posted here asking about a stange action one of my 3 mo. old silkies was suddenly doing.
No one seemed to have a clue. She was putting her head down between her legs, scooching backwards and acting like she was trying to bite her stomach.

I met April from Brodys Bordello at the NEPC last weekend, and she gave me the answer. Apparently, it is a neurological response to a head injury. So I want to thank April, because I thought it was a strange disease, so that was a relief.

She is much better now, hardly doing that movement, only occasionally, and I'm relieved that it is not a permanent situation.

I thought I would share in case anyone else has this happen to their silkie.
Sue

I didn't get those pictures taken of her wings. Sigh. Another day, I guess! But yes, we're going to take her and a cockerel to the show. I'm excited to see how she holds up against other birds. Although-- it is a 4-H event. BUT-- I'm telling you, those families/kids can get pretty competitive! ha! :) They spend all year working on their lines trying to out do everyone. We just got into it, so I'm hoping we don't look too bad. The up side is that everyone is sooo nice. All the meetings we've been to so far, everyone is very helpful and encouraging.

Just got done candiling my 27 eggs and 3 were duds and 3 were ifys i don't think that's bad for my first hatch 21 eggs show good development some have veining and others i could see the chick starting to develop

How much would you sell this for? My grandpa wants $175 +shipping it would be stained
