You guys have to remember Sager is in CANADA - they do NOT have the same standards up there, nor a lot of the same blood in Canadian silkies - American Silkies are MUCH different than European Silkies, and Canada I think the silkies tend to look more along the lines of European with more Canadian breeders TRYING to breed to American Standards...

Sager, its hard for us in the US who are used to the American standards to critique your birds. Have you tried searching for fellow breeders up in Canada to get a critique from? They are who you need to get the opinion of for a TRUE assessment for the quality of your birds. Compared to American showbirds your birds would be classified from PQ - BQ none meet the American Silkie Bantam Standard of Perfection - but again I know Canadian birds aren't quite supposed to.

Canadians use the exact same Standard (and judges) as the US so we DO need to learn from the Americans. The APA represents all of North America. We don't have the competition up here so birds will place here that won't place south of the border. It is sad but true, we don't have much, if anything, to choose from up here yet. Poultry hasn't taken off with nearly the same enthusiasm in Canada as it has south of the border. But - there are several of us working to improve the quality of birds up here.
