Have two issues with silkies.

First one has a build-up of phlegm/Mucus and is wheezing. It often runs out of her mouth area when she leans forward.
She is a little off balance but not too bad. She has one eye closed due to the infection obviously.
She will eat and drink fine (as well as she can with one closed eye).
Not sure if is related but found hard area on her back just below the neck. Seems to be about an inch across. Has a hard 'shell'. Not sure if she injured herself or this is a symptom.

Took to a vet and they gave anti-biotic (entrotril) and anti-inflammatory. Not sure how much the vets around here know about chickens though.
Had 4 days of these but nothing has changed. She is no worse though. Have tried solution from chemist on her eye but no change there either.

Any ideas?

Second chicken has a small very smooth lump on side of leg which seems to be a little painful to her. She doesn't move a great deal and may stumble on that leg if you push her slightly. Have attached pic of it.

Any ideas?

I seem to get nothing but problems with silkies and is becoming rather stressful.:(

Where are you located? That affects the advice we give you.

It sounds like both of your chickens have a respiratory virus, likely Mycoplasma gallisepticum, (MG.) The one with the lesion on her leg probably has the synoviae form of Mycoplasma.

Here's some reading material. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20966088

Usually, Tylosin is the antibiotic used to treat respiratory virus secondary infections.

Were your chickens vaccinated for Mareks disease? Small skin tumors can be common in chickens, as well as feather cysts. Can you feel of the crop and tell us if it is full and puffy or hard, or if it feels empty? Mucus coming from the beak can be crop contents coming back up or mucus from a respiratory disease. Do you see any bubbles in an eye, watery or crusty eye, swelling of the eyelid, or nasal drainage? Do you hear sneezing or rattly breathing?

No vaccination for Mareks. Vet says it's not that (hopefully)
Crops on both chickens seem normal size and not hard.
One with outward respiratory issues may feel slightly 'puffy'.

Dont see mucus coming from beak.
Don't see bubbles in eyes. the closed one is actually starting to open today so maybe the Optrex (eyedrops) is doing some good.
See how real issue with eye itself. Maybe only slightly 'crusty' around but that might be from eye drops and the actual eye is a little cloudy.

She is sneezing sometimes but the main issue is the wheezing (guess thats what you mean by rattling breathing). The mucus in her lungs is like a gurgling sound at times.

The second chicken has no outward issues whatsoever other than the small lump mentioned above.
