Have two issues with silkies.
First one has a build-up of phlegm/Mucus and is wheezing. It often runs out of her mouth area when she leans forward.
She is a little off balance but not too bad. She has one eye closed due to the infection obviously.
She will eat and drink fine (as well as she can with one closed eye).
Not sure if is related but found hard area on her back just below the neck. Seems to be about an inch across. Has a hard 'shell'. Not sure if she injured herself or this is a symptom.
Took to a vet and they gave anti-biotic (entrotril) and anti-inflammatory. Not sure how much the vets around here know about chickens though.
Had 4 days of these but nothing has changed. She is no worse though. Have tried solution from chemist on her eye but no change there either.
Any ideas?
Second chicken has a small very smooth lump on side of leg which seems to be a little painful to her. She doesn't move a great deal and may stumble on that leg if you push her slightly. Have attached pic of it.
Any ideas?
I seem to get nothing but problems with silkies and is becoming rather stressful.
