Silkie with knot on head???

I just had one hatch with a knot on the top of his head, it's part of his skull! I thought I read something about that, but I just don't know...is this a deformation? I'll get a pic!!

Is a vaulted skull a trait that breeders/owners desire? I have not seen this in any other birds during my brief time researching chickens. It doesn't sound lethal or anything like that. Wow. That IS weird!
