Silkie

This silkie is about 4.5 months, pretty sure it’s a hen but the comb throws me off since it’s not a walnut comb like normal silkies have. I wanted to know peoples opinions on its gender. I’d assume if it was male it would be crowing.

I’ve had a few Silkies over the years and had a few that had a comb like yours but they were on roosters . Lack of head feathers and stance I would go with rooster, might start crowing before you know.

This will be interesting ... My first thought was pullet but the comb and wattles making me second guess as it's stance. I'm going with the rest, cockerel but if it don't crow and lays an egg, do update us

Turns out it’s actually a female, she squatted a couple minutes ago for my rooster!

Should have kept with my gut thought ... The head pom - pom & tail but the comb & wattles sure threw me
