Silkied D’Uccles Project

Also following. Thank you for tagging me. I adore your other d’uccle project and I’m curious to see how this one progresses as well.

My main concern- or perhaps biggest curiosity, idk, would be how the Millie Fleur coloring presents in silkied feathers.

I know of several people progressing in Millie Fleur satins and silkies, and I’ve seen some lovely patterned satins, but I haven’t seen the pattern translated that greatly onto silkies. Probably not the easiest color to translate into silkiedness, but intriguing nonetheless. I may have just not viewed enough birds.

I was kind thinking the same thing about the pattern, I decided I would just try and see what happens

These guys hatched while I was at ALA MGS so I don’t exactly know when they hatched. Some look to be 2 days to 1 week

This one looks to be silkied!

This one may not make it. Fingers crossed it does

And I’m not sure this in one of my silkied D’Uccles (I had three hens setting in eggs in a pen) but it kinda looks like one.

Looking good! A shame that non-fibro one didn’t come out with silkie feathering. These guys will all look super cool as adults though, with the combination of patterning and Fibromelanism.
