Each of those birds is essentially a coin flip whether or not they have it. So you can luck out and just happen to pick the right birds to eliminate the trait, but odds are pretty high it'll haunt you for a long time before that ever happens

Thats how I ended up with my white pheonixes. The people that had the originals before me just got lucky enough they happened to never have Whites hatch out, then I get them and BAM Whites everywhere.

Trying to decide if he is worth adding to a “project.”

To me satin's aren't silkies at all but barnyard crosses.

He also doesn't match any SOP for color of feather pattern or comb/face color.. aside from it being single.

I do enjoy a good project though.. What is the project that you're working on?

I have 2 little white roos that look just like this and the odd thing is the male parent has a lg comb and is a satin white and the mom is also a satin silkie ! How did I end up with single comb baby with feathers ??? What in the world happened here ??? Gonna keep the baby as a pet for sure bc so loving but not in breeding pen
