Silkies Hen or Rooster?

Ok - so, Poof, Silkie #1 in my pics, turned out to be a pullet!! She laid her first egg today.

It's the one on the far right-- super little- on the far left is a store bought large egg.

if on would be a rooster it would have 2 long strands o hair stick up off its head

well it doesnt nessicarily have to be two, it couuld be more, plus if its molting it may just be getting its streamers in, or wild/stray hairs. Has she he started corwing or laying yet? The spurs on a roo is about the last thing too develope so you probably shouldnt go by that, id say the only way to tell, is it will chanllenge other roos, crow, or develope streamers or spurs. I am pretty sure both are hens. The first is a definite hen. She has a weak Partridge pattern which makes her very easy to sex. The other one looks like a hen as well.

Just for an update. Both Silkies turned out to be hens.

Silkie #1 is currently playing Momma to 3 chicks.
