I was given 9 eggs from a friend of a friend.. one was a quitter and 3 eggs just didnt hatch for whatever reason. So i have 5 2 week old chicks and have no clue what they are. I was told 4 were silkies and 5 were silkie bantams.. 3 "silkie" eggs hatched (were very light cream and the smallest) and 2 "silkie bantam" eggs hatched (slightly darker cream and a little bigger but still a small egg). These are the chicks..

This one seems to be a male, always standing tall, super loud (much more so than the others).. slight feet feathering, normal feathers, black and white on the wings.. pale yellow on head with dark grey down the back.. 5 toes.. white skin

black skin, 5 toes, slight feathering on feet, normal feathers, started out black and dark grey but feathers coming in are black.. 2 of these that are nearly identical

Also, do my silkies appear to be bearded? Vaulted? And do all silkies get tourquise ear drums? Or should they?

Yeah i wasnt aware of that when i got the eggs but after reading i realized that the person who my friend got them from must not have a clue what they really had, lol.. Thus, im here, to figure out what these mystery chicks are.. theyre definitely some kind of bantam because theyre all pretty much the same size.. i just am pretty new to this chicken thing and would like to know from you chicken veterans what you suspect lol

If you want chickens as pets and friendly companions. BANTAMS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. Of course that is only my silly opinion since I just adore these little creatures. Right now I am looking to add 3 to my flock. A White silkie, A black Polish with a white fro. and a Serama. I had these, but have since lost them .

ill tell ya what, i have 5 GLWs and 1 SLW, all 2 months old, and so far they were and are still MUCH friendlier than my little silkie mixes.. which is crazy because ive heard from a lot of people that bantams are the best pets but my wyandottes fly out of the brooder only when im in their room and roost on my shoulders, arms, and legs.. they even like it when i "rough them up" so to speak- play like you would with a frisky puppy.. its crazy! My silkies just cry bloody murder when i come near and run away like i have dead chickens hanging from a necklace around my neck, lol!!

Thank you all!!! At what age should i be able to tell for sure what theyre mixed with? Also, since the last 3 seem to be mixed with large breeds, should i expect them to be larger than my silkies when fully grown? Then the blue and white or splash silkies.. do they look bearded to you guys? And/or vaulted? And do all silkies get the tourquise ear drums? I really appreciate all of your help and info!!
