I know this is a Silkie thread, but since Sizzles are bred to the Silkie standard, I hope someone here can help me with colors. I plan on showing them if I can figure out their color.
Is this a lemon blue or ......
No; lemon blue females have lemon on their head hackles and a bit as lacing on there upper breast. Everything else should be blue. This pullet has too much on her breast, some on her wings and none on her head. Can't tell for sure about on her hackle due to her posture in the photo, but it doesn't look like she has any there.
Another pullet - is this a proper porcelain?
Nice.
2 smooth Sizzle cockerels.
Porcelain?
Primary colour pattern (different colours on different parts of the body) looks wrong.
Think I can get by with calling this guy a calico splash?
Just calico...
Now here are a couple of Silkies. I think they're porcelain but do you think they'll be DQ'd for being too dark? The first 2 are of the same pullet but colors look a little different so posted both.
Looks like blue partridge...or maybe lavender partridge...
Not sure if the judges will go along with this as a porcelain or not. If not, what would she be? Mutt?
Colour is too vibrant for two copies of lavender. Colour pattern says this is a male, not a female. Very pretty, but I don't think it is a named variety. Birchen (crowwing) plus mahogany plus blue plus golden and/or a gold dilution gene.
This is what is happening with some of my buffs - white undercoat. Is this a DQ?
White in hte undercolour is a defect, not a DQ. You need to breed to birds with deeper buff colouring and not carrying blue to correct this.
Thanks for any help. You are all the greatest!
