The pic appears to show that the body is a blue or dark coloring. The hackles appear to have darker streaking. This reminds me of the Calico coloring more than the Salmon.

I believe that those working on crossing in chocolate in silkies have been using Polish and or Serama. They are closer in size, at least that is what I have been told.

I put a white hen with my black roo I think he may be lavender split. I have gotten lavender babies from him before. However I expected to see partridge patterns but so far none here is some of the colors of chicks.

When we bought him we thought he was calico. I had posted his pic in the silkie thread and was told he was something called autosimnal or something like that that I have no idea what they where talking about. I saw a pic of one somebody called calico. The only difference I saw was mine had a little longer hackle feathers. Otherwise they looked identical but I was told he was that auto............something or other by one person and by another that he was just a mixed color with no particular name for it and by another that he was a tri colored silkie.

I would like to know for when I sell or trade eggs I can say what color the roo is. I think he is very pretty and i've had comments from others that have seen him about how pretty he is.

emvickery~~no one can tell you the color of your roo because he's not an approved color.... It's just like the porcelain, isobel, chocolate, etc, etc. When a silkie is not a color that has been accepted by the APA & ABA, the breeder of said silkie can choose to call them whatever color they want.
