Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Wow really!? Maybe it's good for them in wet dirt to help cool themselves in summer temps but in winter not so good

they do it in winter too. we have mild winters here, almost no freeze.

I have another auestion!! I’m sorry guys!!! I was told these two black juveniles were slick Japanese bantams. But i can’t find anything on that breed! Google, Pinterest, even on here! Is this a satin or a smooth???? Because i have eggs in the incubator she labeled as the same breed

How is mumma hen going with 16 chicks!? So many!!
I've never given mine more then 8 at one time.

I had a bantam cochin who hatched a few and adopted the rest - 22 chicks total! they were a big happy family.

Funny.. i think these are weeks 2 and 4 of my former partridge silkie.. (but seem to not have week 3). She was a she btw.

Sorry they arent in order, but you can see the earlier vs later. Such a sweetie too.

Mine seems to be developing SO slow.

My little paint silkie had been very slow developing.. and she has ended up on the smallest end of the silkie range. She's perfectly healthy and normal though, just a bantam bantam!

I don't know how i forgot about Bambina's pics! Here she is at 2 and 4 weeks...

That's very young to be correct on sexes.

This is a pullet at 5, 6, and 7 weeks. The 6 weeks has one of her brothers in it. He's the lighter chick.
