I would think she's trying to protect the babies...but I hadn't been blessed with a moma and babies yet...I'm the moma lol!
Did u integrate her n the babies back into the flock slowly where they could see each other but not touch? Idk of ya do that for moma n babies like ya do when ya just have babies like I have to do.
She's still in the same pen she's been in since arriving here.. There was no flock to integrate her with as she's the first silkie pullet I got.. Well, she may be wanting to get out and free range (that's happened once or twice) but I have the biggie flock turned out daily to provide them with exercise and eliminate squabbles between older hens and the younger group.

N how long u had her?

Ummmmmm, about a month before she started sitting eggs, plus 3 weeks sitting, and now 4 weeks post sitting.. 15 weeks?
I'd shorten the others time free ranging and give her n babies an hour or so supervised to see if that helps her.
But that's just me...I hadn't ever gotten to experience that part of yet.

3rd generation silkie cross. She's getting better color on her feathers as more adult looking ones come in.

Can someone tell me what type of silkies these are?

Note that the silkies don't really care that they are there. The cat had a chicken food snack before leaving.

Y’all. We’ve hit the awkward teenager stage… and everyone is chest bumping like crazy lol. These babies should be about 5-6 weeks old but some are def bigger than others 🐓 🤪

Had to take several shots to get plant and flower.. I had one growing up the mimosa tree but I hit it with the weed eater last week. The plant vines around anything near it.View attachment 3179847View attachment 3179852
it has the very slender leaves and looks like a fern of some sort.
This plant is often called Cypress Vine. It’s an annual, self-sowing vine that does well on sandy or well drained soils. Hummingbirds probably love it! :)
