I will move tomorrow to my new place. no internet there so I will rarely be here to check the posts. I have to take care of lots of things before I find a solution for internet.
So excited for you! Long time comin for sure!
Enjoy fixing up your new place and we'll be waiting to hear all about it when ya get on!

My sweet Bambi is bout to start layin...she is so loud!!! She got in the nest box...shuffled all the nesting around for bout 15 mins...then hopped out and boked like she had laid an egg! What's bad is my entire flock joins in on the egg song! Too loud for anything!!!

2nd gen from cochin x silkie. If she didn't have a black head on her, I'd be even more pleased. That body feather color isn't too bad. Small little silkie comb on her. Fairly good body shape, bit long in body is all. I think she'll be going with my red headed cockerel for breeding this year.

She's absolutely gorgeous! Would you consider her a satin silkie or like you have stated previously, a cochin silkie mix? She's a beauty either way!🧡

To me a satin silkie has been bred back to silkies enough that the body type is full silkie. She's not to that point yet. Her mother is half cochin and isn't as silkie looking as her black half sister who has been throwing chicks that look silkie.

This pullet will probably not have all her chicks look full silkie. Well full show line worthy silkie. Most of my 3/4 silkies look better most hatchery silkies.

I'll keep the best for future breeding.

What is it that causes seemingly so many penciling/lacing to have the black head?
She's gorgeous in colors and penciling/lacing!!!
