100% hatch rate?

There was originally 9 eggs but the one that didn't develop was the blue pullets first ever egg. It was so small and never developed, probably with it being her first egg and not formed correctly.

So in a way, I'd still class that as 100% from all the correctly formed eggs :celebrate

I know so far I've had up to 100% fertility on eggs I've hatched.

That's great. I didn't have that luck sadly this year. I only had 8 or 9 hatch out of the 16ish eggs I put under. But the broody died and we had to find an incubator and then of course the power went out for a day because of some fixing the city needed to do so I think that was the problem.

I can't wait to see the pictures though! Silkie babies are the cutest!

Here's some old pictures of my past silkies (excuse how dirty they are). A friend took them and all but one are gone now so it's always nice to have pictures to look back on!

Okay guys... how much would you pay for 1doz paint silkie eggs?

I paid over $100 for a dozen paint eggs from breeders that are more well known in the show circuit and do well with their paints (I had to wait for their eggs too, they had buyers before me on their wait list). I'd say $25-75 would be reasonable to me for a dozen paint eggs depending on how the parents look and assuming the seller isn't showing and winning a lot in some of the bigger shows (for $75 I'd want the parents to be very very nice looking though). I looked all over to try to get diverse genetics for my flock so I got to see what a lot of people sold there eggs for here in the US. I could be completely clueless though, I'm still quite inexperienced!:lol:

So guys all have hatched!

There is 2 golds I believe (one is still wet so hard to see), 3 whites, 2 partridges and 1 blue!

I forgot I put a blue egg under her :gig

I'll get photos later on when they're all dried out.

Congratulations on the great hatch! I can't wait to see pics of the little ones! :)

Beautiful pictures and silkies! It's nice you have such pretty photos of your girls to look back on (it's always bittersweet for me looking at pics of my animals that have passed but I'd much rather have the pictures than not). :)

Thank you! They did a great job. It is very nice! I feel the same but it is nice looking back on them. I'm glad that our photographer is a friend because I feel like most people would be weirded out to take professional pictures of chickens!

I ordered from hatching eggs from a Show Quality Silkie Breeder in Ohio, they were priced $35.00 for 6 eggs, but she will throw in extras if available.
