This is very interesting... good timing on your post, because now im wondering if my little cochin might actually be a splash instead of self-blue. Would splashes start of as such a faint blue, or would they start off as white? I am seeing tiny bits of darker blue on these new feathers, but i need a little more feathering to figure it out. When i check the Privetts site, they have self-blue OEGB and DUccles, but only "blue" cochins, no self-blue or lavender listed.

They are both little hams, keep jumping up the side of their brooder so i will let them out. They are finally climbing onto my hands willingly as well!

I still have the feeling the silkies want to eat them.. they just eyeball them a certain way. I have the brooder and their coop side by side. I will let them get a bit more size on before i let the velociraptors out.

Aww so adorable! I agree with jmns they are looking like little splashes. I bet they will be really beautiful once they mature! :love

I'm so excited! Within a few days I will be picking up a black silkie cockerel! A person near me said they got him from a breeder. I saw a picture, and he looks amazing! For free too!
How exciting!! I was so worried about the potential of mine being males when they were younger, i was hoping a silkie male would be a bonus to someone!! I am sure both you and the one giving him to you are so happy!!

Absolu
