Well they’re not showable, thus poor quality.

Of course there’s nothing wrong with that if you’re keeping them as pets!
I wish poultry shows allowed the showing of original Chinese silkies like they did many years ago, when poultry shows weren't so strict. Those ones back then were pretty much like in words: A chicken is a chicken, there's no such thing as a perfect bird.

Noodles. She is a Splash Silkie/Cochin cross. Has a deformed foot and her toes look like noodles. Hence her name.

It took me at least 15 minutes to catch up!

I haven't got the correct set up to be able to do so unfortunately, at least not whilst they are so small.

The way my nest boxes are set out if the chicks get out they can't get back in which is a pain and I'm not there all the time to check them because of work.

I personally prefer to use my incubator to hatch my eggs but since the showing season has finished for me, I'm letting two of my hens sit eggs :jumpy
How do you keep your silkies from going broody? Mine aren't laying yet, but I have heard they go broody a lot.

I want a splash REALLY bad! Along with a partridge.

Not exactly.
Here's a punnet square for walnut combs.

I don't understand a word of that, but it sounds like you know your stuff:)

Thanks. Her name is Dreamy. Yes I name all my chickens
What is so bad about naming chickens? I name all of mine.
