I just got a pic tonight! The chick is named Mayo, she’s probably out last chick out of my sister’s beloved hen Peanut Butter (welsumer) all her previous chicks were named with a sandwich spread theme. Not only does her being a PB baby make her special but her dad is Walter, a grandson of the queen, Blue. That’s what makes this little one so special and Peggy has been entrusted with the duty to raise her.View attachment 2806975

😍 😍 Adorable!
It looks like dear Peggy is a great mommy to precious Mayo 🥰

Thanks!
I just used a thick piece of wood and stapled foam matting to it (it's not foam that breaks up, I use the mats to cover muddy ground in rainy weather so they can have somewhere to step that's dry) They all had no problem going up and down, considering they normally don't use a ramp or roost that high they did fine!
Thank you!
That's a great idea to use those mats - I think they are anti-slip, too? (Like those used for horses?)

Lil Bumpkin is couple days old

New to silkies, well, chickens in general. I have some juvies. Two are 12 weeks and 3 are 7ish weeks. I'm not sure what color the younger, lighter ones will end up. Was told they were blues... They aren't so much blue at the moment. Haha! Really hoping at least a couple are hens but that doesn't seem to be the way it goes with silkies this year.

Lots of pics of my awkward teens. 😊

Aww I'm loving seeing all the adorable chicks and youngsters! 🥰

New to silkies, well, chickens in general. I have some juvies. Two are 12 weeks and 3 are 7ish weeks. I'm not sure what color the younger, lighter ones will end up. Was told they were blues... These guys are so cute, the awkward stage is pretty adorable! I agree the lighter colored younger ones don't look very blue. They look a little different than most splash chicks I've seen too. My guess would probably be something like a columbian grey (likely carrying blue too with the diluted color of the darker feathers), very pretty! 🥰

I hope you get some girls too (the 12 week old with the bigger crest is looking pretty feminine anyway)! :fl
