Here are the new little ones, mostly fluffed up now. 😁

Here is dad, I really like his type. I hope he'll pass on the shorter back and higher tail as that is something a lot of my girls need work on. The first picture is back when he was around 6 months or so and the last is him currently (he is looking pretty scruffy right now, I can't wait until he does a full molt).

Yep silkies from white lines are recessive white. Is your BBS cochin black or blue or splash? If he's black you'll probably get black chicks for the first generation pairing to a white. A lot of the time recessive whites have partridge under the white which is more recessive than black. Sometimes the whites have other interesting colors hiding though so you never know until you try! Bred to a partridge you'll probably get black babies as well for the first generation (with possibly a little gold leakage in the hackles/breast area). 😊
Ahhhh your floofers are soooo cute!!
:love
Your black roo is gorgeous! I love his look, with that shorter back and big poof tail.

The Cochin boy is black with gold leakage in his hackles. I didn’t know partridge was more recessive that’s interesting! Might have to consider giving them a shot to see what happens hehe! Thanks for the info!

When I had mine outside without cover they did the same, it really is amazing how much they can change in fluffiness day to day!

This is really neat, and great example photos! 😁
What adorable babies!😍 I actually love that there’s one Partridge among all the others. I always hope to get different colors in my chicks.
Your boy really is gorgeous. 🥰
He looks like a little round ball! He also looks like he is on the smaller size.
These are his first babies too, right?
Are all the moms paint?

Thank you! 🥰

It is kind of fun getting an unexpected color for more variety. If these guys weren't from my paint line that I'm trying to clear up of recessive colors I'd be a lot happier with it popping up though!

The 4 chicks that hatched 12 weeks ago may also be his chicks but these are the first that are for sure his. I had 5 different cockerels in with the girls at that time when a broody managed to hide her eggs from me for a little while and get them developing. He was the only male I'd seen successfully mate though so I suspect he is the most likely father. The girls I bred him to to get these latest chicks were 9 paints and 3 dominant whites (from paint breeding).

I haven't posted pictures of those little ones in awhile. They just went outside a few weeks ago. They seem to be a lot slower to mature than a lot of the chicks I've grown out in the past. They are over 12 weeks now and I'm not seeing any streamers coming in yet on the suspected male (I almost always see streamers by 12 weeks on the boys) they are all smaller than I'd expect at their age too. I'll be curious to see how they fill out by 6 months or so. :)

They are beautiful!😍
Maybe you’ll be lucky and you will have all pullets! (assuming that’s what you want)
