Tension is mounting between the 2. Puff wants all the chicks and keeps telling Char to back off.. I may have to take Char out and allow puff to look after all 8. Puff is a better mum, char did leave her others behind yesterday and I ended up picking up the single chick and putting it back in the coop, it was so thirsty!!

So sweet seeing the chicks with their mamas.❤️
Poor Char, she’ll get over it.😊

I was actually wondering about this situation myself today. Betty and Fuzzy are both brooding in the same box on the same clutch of eggs…I’m curious what I should do about giving them babies? Give them both a couple babies and then see how it goes? They’ve been broody about 12 days and I have eggs incubating that will hatch in 19 days…will that be too long?? Should I break them? They’re so dedicated to their cause…and what if one is a bad mom or they fight over them haha. So many things to manage!

I had 2 broodies that hatched chicks together. they were a big happy family. when the first chicks hatched one of the broodies took care of them and I put all the remaining eggs under the other broodie for another day. when the rest of chicks hatched they raised them together.

I still have them in all together. They are getting along, mostly. Char's chicks go under her at night and are a week older so little more active. Puff is very protective of all the chicks but is tolerating Char helping on the sidelines ☺️

Oh that’s good to hear! I’d love to see them as a cute little chicken family 😍

Depends on the hens, some can work together and others fight over the chicks.
If you want a broody to raise your incubator chicks then I'd give one broody your incubator eggs and the other can sit on the nest eggs. Then they can raise them together after all hatch if you like (just watch carefully if any issues you'll need to seperate) How many eggs between them now?
