Trying to get a head-count on silkie lovers...

only? :lau I wanted 4-5 hens and a roo and ended up with about 50 chickens and muscovy ducks within a year :oops:


I don't have that much now as the low changed and I can have 30 only. btw I live on a small plot and have no room even for 30 chickens as I have a small garden too.

They all know we are CaRazY!!! I mean we got cute chickens after all! Who does that?! My friend that does my hair has "real" chickens...she refers to mine as "special"!
I sat and enjoyed the new run yesterday with em in between workin on their spiral staircase LOL! I would talk and sing and I swear they did it right back with me!!!

My Husband would definitely KILL me!
But I sure see how E A S Y it is to do!
Like started with 4
Rehomed 1 roo
First broody was egg collecting
So out of her 11 I had 3 hatch
I wanted 2 from Alabama but she suggested i order 4...
then she sent me 6
Rehomed 4
Left with 7
Problem roo so decided to keep him with his girls so rehomed 3
Incubating 4 of their eggs now
Free eggs from Hawaii...who could resist
So got 8 more in incubator!
Hey...now I finally understand why people do a headcount!!! Otherwise you have no idea what ya got! Lol

Mille fleur is a color.. its an option with D'uccles, but there have been some successful efforts in taking the color to other breeds, like cochins, silkies, and SATINSSSS 😍😍😍
