My single hatch Christmas chick looks to be a boy 😩 3 months now and good size comb and wattles. He's very super skittish! I'm listing to sell, if someone has the time to handle him daily he'll be ok but not much hope in selling a boy here as there are a few people trying to get rid of their Silkie boys too. I probably will end up culling him unfortunately. He's just black, nothing fancy and from the beginning he's always not been a friendly one so he doesn't even have that going for him.
I couldn't even take a good pic of him, no way will allow me to come close enough! I took him off the roost last night before sunset and he was screaming bloody murder! I held him for a bit and he calmed down though at least.

Awe I'm sorry...I don't understand why so many are roos when the ratio of hens to roo is so important!

15 day-old Hotaru (Firefly in Japanese) is just starting to develop more red on the chest today. I promise I won’t post daily photos of her! 🤣
I just find her coloring so fascinating. Hope she ends up being kind of calico colored. White with black and red feathering. Time will tell!😊
She does not mind posing for the camera so far!🥰View attachment 3042686View attachment 3042687View attachment 3042688View attachment 3042689
Oww, such a cutie!
You always have really good clear photos! My phone camera doesn't seem to focus well, but it's an improvement in my previous phone 😄

Umm, I'm not sure if my little sweet cockerel Falcon broke or disjointed his 5th toe. It just doesn't look right compared to the other foot. He walks normally with it like this but I know his toe shouldn't bend under like that. I've included pictures. If anyone can tell me if it is broken or disjointed, and how to treat it that would be great! Thanks!

Hmm... on my 5 toe chickens, the 5th toe is always funky.. like an extra unused hanging appendage, and doesn't always match on left and right.

So it looks ok to me, but let's see if anyone else notices something out of the ordinary. 🤔

Has it always been that way or just recently?

I've seen similar just naturally occurring that becomes more obvious as they grow. If he's not bothered by it I don't think I'd worry about it too much. The polydactyly gene is finicky and has a lot of different expressions that can happen. Hopefully that is all that it is. :fl
