Question: can I go with smaller than recommended dimensions for roost bars if I only have silkies?
Standard width per chicken 12"
Standard horizontal separation 15"
Standard vertical separation 12"
Minimum height 24" I think I got these right.
I want them to have the necessary room but I'm cramped on space for roost bars

my turkeys fit in less than that (Standard horizontal separation 15") but the coop is much bigger. they might prefer to sleep on the floor.

It's a little hard to tell scale. I think mine may be a little bigger than yours. I also will have a very good size (20'x20' at least) outdoor run that I think they'll spend most of their time in.(?) I'm hoping they just sleep and lay eggs in the coop.
If you have a ramp maybe they could get up that high otherwise they may sleep or lay eggs on the floor. Could you add some lower roosts and nests?

Yall I am so far behind after just one week of not being here! Sooooooo much needs doin!!!
Didn't get to take pics today cuz 11 lil 2 ½ week satin chicks have outgrown the XL dog crate brooder in garage and I forgot to have sitters turn off the heat plate! So now I gotta re-rig the brooder in the run to better contain the smaller chicks!
Worked with Zoe cuz I could tell this morning she definitely was searching for "the" spot to lay her first egg.
Got tired working with her and had errands to run which took much longer than i expected.
Got back to find Zoe took my advice and laid her FIRST EGG!!!
Paid the sitters which turned into a family affair with lots of talkin lol!
So...goal for tomorrow is to get those lil rascals out to run brooder tomorrow and I'll just take extension cord and hook up heat plate for extra care for a week or so!
Yall all have a good week?!
