Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

My shipped babies (well the 5 left ) seem to have black patchy feathers coming in so don't look plain coloured anymore which is good so I can tell them apart .. hard to see in pics but there's random black splotches on most of them... Do you think they'll end up some sort of paint/ splash? What age can you really tell colours? One is greyish and another is more yellow, other 3 look sort of white with black splotches.

I caught the F3 chicks for pictures. Took 2 days to get the smooth feathered one. It can fly and knows it.

I saw Biscuit rooster feet bleeding today! Scaley mites!
I regularly treat with permethrin spray and powder in dust bath.
I just gave him another dose of Ivermectin on his neck just now and half filled Icecream container of extra virgin olive oil and swished his feet in.
What you you all do to treat mites? My rooster seems to be the one affected, 2 others have it very minor so I gave them another permethrin spray.

He's in the coop now keeping to himself.. poor boy

I just spray with cooking oil daily for a week, silkies are hard to get into those scales, so that works well. Or if you have any permithrin ointment(its a prescription for people) it clears it up in 24 hours, its crazy.

Okay Silkie experts! Sia and Cher head to the county fair in the morning! So they got a bath and blow out tonight. I probably could have done more to get Sia whiter and brighter, but wasn’t sure we had the time or the stuff to do it right and didn’t wanna turn her purple! So my question is this - have any of you got the SOP for silkies to see what is allowable on black silkies? I didn’t realize until I washed her how much of her under coat is white! Is this juvenile white feathering that goes away after her first big molt? Or is she gonna be marked down for being not entirely black? I thought originally it was a random feather here and there but she’s got a lot of white downy feathers at the base

looks like grey underfluff but I am not a judge.

Can you take another pic of her in natural light? Where she's completely dry?
