I’ve pretty much decided silkies are the only chickens I’ll be keeping next year. Maybe a few bantam Cochins...

I never mentioned it before, but I have owned Silkies, though not the way you all do. I had three, two white roosters from Ideal, and one black hen from a breeder, all three were super sweet.

I'm trying to get my hands on a Sultan hen or some hatching eggs so that I can cross my Silkie rooster to them. Very few people breed them over here though and ones that do live really far south

I just can't imagine eating something that looks like a poodle! I don't think I could deal with an evil silkie.
