Thank you! For the most part - yes!

That's great! The first time is strange for them, after all, they aren't ducks right? :lau

Mine do still enjoy it though...

Such a Silkie noob here, but I was wondering when my little guy will start to get a comb. He is about 4 mos old. This awkward teenage phase cracks me up, but I love the look of Silkie roos. Can't wait for him to "fill out," so to speak!View attachment 1923837 View attachment 1923838
BTW: Yes, I have 2 boys. No, these aren't my only chickens.

Aw he's lovely!

It depends on the bird really, I've had some start getting combs as young as 2-3 months and others not get theirs till 6 months.

I'd say very soon you will start seeing some growth of his comb!

Being this appears to be a group chat on all things Silkie, I was wondering if I could get some opinions on the color of these two Satins. I sold these two Satins as chicks and the lady who got them wanted to know the colors. XD I couldn't tell her. The whiter one I figured would be closer to a splash, but has faint blue leakage too and the other makes me think red pyle but has havier blue leakage in the tail and reminds me of blue laced red. Would they just both go under calico? What's some of your opinions on their colors? I currently don't seperate my different colored birds so just have two fun Frizzled Satin project pens. Thanks for anyone's thoughts! :) 8447.jpeg 8448.jpeg
