Such a Silkie noob here, but I was wondering when my little guy will start to get a comb. He is about 4 mos old. This awkward teenage phase cracks me up, but I love the look of Silkie roos. Can't wait for him to "fill out," so to speak!

BTW: Yes, I have 2 boys. No, these aren't my only chickens.

Whilst people are on the topic of colours here, I'm curious to know how my gold partridge pullet and my recessive pure white partridge based rooster produce so many different varieties of partridge...

I suspected all their chicks to look the same or very similar in colour but...no!

I've hatched gold partridge, almost all lemon partridge, dark partridge and Moorhead partridge

I'm guessing there is multiple different genes a partridge parent can pass on, not just a basic partridge gene.

He will get it in soon, I think. Adorable little guy!
