Hi Silkie Lovers! I’ve asked this questions on BYC a few times but now I’m in the motherland... anyone breed a blue Silkie with a partridge hen and what did chicks come out as??? I’m in the midst of this experiment and wondering if it’s possible to get a blue partridge, even if chances are slim or if they came out all blue or black (as it shows on the genetics charts I’ve come across). I might be WAY off but I’m thinking that my partridge is considered a black partridge so it could be a 50/50 chance??? Or maybe I will just get straight up blue and blacks with some recessive partridge genes hidden in them. I can always get some splash out of the coupling down the road by mixing my blues (if I get some soon)... Christmas morning, Christmas morning!! Lol

Here are my lovebirds:

Others say he's a blue partridge, but he looks more like a type of calico to me. I got this guy from an SQ Silkie breeder in Ohio.

Breeding blue to Partridge may work, won't hurt to try it out.

Hi guys! I love Silkies and Sizzles. In fact, I am working on breeding them. I have 23 silkies and sizzles in total...
9 blues- 2 are frizzled Sizzles, 1 frizzled silkie, 1 smooth sizzle, and 5 silkies
7 splashes- 1 frizzled sizzle, 5 silkies, and 1 frizzled silkie
3 white- 2 silkie and 1 smooth sizzle
2 black- 1 silkie and 1 smooth sizzle
1 gray silkie

Sadly, I just lost one of my splash silkies recently to a raccoon.:(

Hello, loses happen.
I will also be working on some Silkie projects in the future. Right now I'm working on Wheaten Crele Orpingtons.

Sorry to hear. We get so attached to our lil feathered friends and it’s the worst when they are lost in such a way.
