Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

I've never had silkies, but from looking at them, I can only say I have denounced a very accurate definition:

Silkie (noun) - A very floofy chicken.

' Breeding is combining with the other sex. A single comb isn’t a problem, offspring will have a rose comb again. '

My Silkie Cockerel has a single comb and he comes from an approximately 15 year pure bred Silkie breeding line.

Thanks I’m using him for breeding despite the single comb as all of his other traits make up for it! He’s the father of my little hybrids and plan to use in the spring with my Silkie girls.

I had a beautiful paint silkie showgirl hatch this fall. But got trampled (had a pesky hawk dove bombing my pens) I cried. It was the cutest little thing.
