Easter sure is cute! My babies that hatched close to Easter haven't got their streamers yet. Having siblings to compare to I'm fairly confident about most of them already but the streamers coming in will help a lot. I hope a few more weeks will make Easter's sex more obvious! :fl

Aww what a cutie! I can't tell just from a frontal shot but what I can see reminds me more of a little cockerel. If he/she is over 12 weeks you may be able to see streamers (longer feathers growing out of the back of the crest). That is usually the most accurate sign I've found for sexing silkie chicks (in rare cases girls can have them but it doesn't happen often at all). :)

No hate, but is Silkies' vision good? I've never seen one in person, but in pictures, it looks like their "bangs" are all over their faces/eyes, so I have this doubt... Sorry if it's stupid 😂

Not a stupid question at all! :)

It really depends on the crest size in regards to how well they can see. The really fluffy ones with large crests often can't see well (especially if they are also bearded). If they do have trouble seeing because of their crest/beard trimming some around the eyes can help a lot so they can see better.

Thank you! And thanks for the help!

I really want a partridge Silkie.... We had a partridge roo but he was pretty old and no longer breeding really. A coon killed him last summer. I was really upset about losing him.

But I need to find one that is NOT a rooster. I already have to rehome 4 roosters (2 white, 1 black, and 1 lavender paint).
I love partridge!
I have a sweet silver partridge pullet but the rest are mostly black or white.. wish I had more hens that were multicolour like my roosters, but hens are just not as pretty coloured so I just have to keep the roosters to brighten the flock 😄
Here's pic of some of mine...
