Love her fluffinessJust thought you fellow silkie enthusiasts would appreciate this “fluff butt” photo of my one and half pound Layla while “free ranging” this afternoon.
Happy Friday Everyone!View attachment 2762791
How old are they? If they look the same, small comb etc then probably pullet but I'm not very experienced in good guesses sorryI know little Raven is a girl.
But Ginger is very baffling. Her crest isn't as neat as Raven's, but everything else is the same.
She hasn't got a very large comb, or wattles.
thoughts?
They were sold as 6-7wk olds but I don't really know their actual age. At this age, my 2 roosters already had wattles and wide combsHow old are they? No way that young! Look more closer to 3 months if not older. .. my 3.5 month old I can't see much of wattles yet but some are late bloomers. They were sold as 6-7wk olds but I don't really know their actual age. At this age, my 2 roosters already had wattles and wide combs
Really? They are a similar to my chickens when they were that age. The same size and weight. In the UK, silkies are standard sizeNo way that young! Look more closer to 3 months if not older. .. my 3.5 month old I can't see much of wattles yet but some are late bloomers.
Ginger is looking like a pullet. The orangish feathers on the wings are a little suspect though. Bearded silkies will not normally have much wattles.I know little Raven is a girl.
