The chickens made a nest under the house AGAIN so it's Emma's turn to be a mom. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Are prominent cheeks on silkie and polish chicks a good indicator that they are bearded? Or does that take a while to show up? 🧔

I've only seen the more prominent/puffier cheeks in bearded and partially bearded birds so it may not be a sure sign but still a pretty decent indicator even when they are little. 😊

Awesome, thanks! They came from batches with possible frizzle and bearded genes. So far, i don't think any of the tolbunts are frizzled, but those cheeks.. 🤔 and on the silkies, im thinking no frizzles. One of the silkie hatchmates had nice curly feathers (that one was not for sale), so it did seem to show early enough (day 5 at the time).

Gardener is coming to help me level out the base for the coop and run. My mission is to have it in place and big girls moved in over the next few days 🏡 🐥

Found these photos of some of my chicks that demonstrate bearded vs. non bearded.
Hope this helps.😊

Yall!!! After 2 days of hard rains the new coop is still bone dry!!! So I got the almost 5 week old babies moved into their new coop just now!
They finally calmed down after I got em all moved down there together! I'm soooooo excited and happy it's dry! They needed more room so badly! And they have tons of feathers and warmer weather for few days so they should be good!!!
