3 of the 5 Chiquita eggs just showed clear veining!! The other 2 look like they may be trying to start. I think they may have been in a cold spot in the incubator so I changed their positions. Even if only 3 develop I'm thrilled as I was not sure they were even fertile.
:wee:wee:wee
So exciting! Can’t wait to see the chicks!❤️

I find that boys especially when young are generally friendlier than the girls. While all the birds will come up to me when they see me, only three of my girls are friendly enough to jump into my lap and seek attention. The rest seem to just put up with me because I feed them!🤣
They all got the same attention as chicks and were handled frequently, so I think it’s just a personality thing more than anything else.

Awe thank u! I just want all the luvins! @AngBantamLuv I totally did that with my others and it didn't work.
You have to start when they are hatchlings.. cup them in your hands and blow your warm breath on them (warning, not approved by the CDC), and they will cuddle into you like you're the mama hen.

Ok maybe it's just me then.

I think they tend to copy each other as well.. so if you have one willing to be in your lap.. they Alllll Want to be in your lap.. and then the dogs see it, and want to be in your lap too 🙄 then Elsa gets jealous and wants everyone off your lap.. but i digress.

If you've got a chicken little.. i think the others will also run.. to see what the other one is running to. Chicken FOMO.

Yeah I just gotta keep workin with em...Joey jumped up in my lap today while I was holding Zoe...and then Grayson was curious but never jumped up lol. Josie - poor girl in her own little world as usual. I really think it's cuz of her head feathers...she can't see diddly squat!
I was holding her n tried pulling em back to see her eyes and she just let her eyes roll back like "oh that feels so much better!" Lolol

Boys r so easy to work with at this age...girls seem never easy!
Any tips for getting pullets to luv ya too!?
They will eat out of my hand and come as a flock. Buy I wait and wait and try to do same with them as I do boys and it's just not any easier.

I also think it's just sort of a personality thing. One thing I notice with a lot of my girls though is right around laying age a bunch of them get less flighty and easier to handle and often more curious/friendly. I don't judge personality too much before they are laying because of this. 😊

Oh that is wonderful! I can't wait to see what you get when they hatch! ❤️
