3 of the 5 Chiquita eggs just showed clear veining!! The other 2 look like they may be trying to start. I think they may have been in a cold spot in the incubator so I changed their positions. Even if only 3 develop I'm thrilled as I was not sure they were even fertile.
That's awesome :yesss:
Fingers crossed that all 5 of them will develop and hatch ❤️
...Perhaps you could name a little one Fifi! That's a mini-banana variety 😊 Chiquita -> Fifi

Yeah I just gotta keep workin with em...Joey jumped up in my lap today while I was holding Zoe...and then Grayson was curious but never jumped up lol. Josie - poor girl in her own little world as usual. I really think it's cuz of her head feathers...she can't see diddly squat!
I was holding her n tried pulling em back to see her eyes and she just let her eyes roll back like "oh that feels so much better!" Lolol
Are you going to give sweet little Josie a 'haircut'? To see if it makes a difference for her?

I prefer to pull it back if she will let me during the day...rather than cut it. But 🤷‍♀️

I like the name Fifi, especially for a silkie hen, and I told my daughter, she loves it. My mother on the other hand said we were raising chickens not poodles. But you know, if you squint your eyes and look at a silkie, they can be poodle like.

I think Fifi is a perfect name for a Silkie actually!🥰
I agree especially if I can get a buff pullet. It is better then Banana which my daughter Rosie was thinking of naming a chick. But, I'm getting ahead of myself. First, these chicks need to develop and hatch out safely. Then it will be ages before I know who is a pullet or not. Even if I hatch out a Buff one, I will not be keeping any more boys. I am finally back down to my happy number of 3 total boys, Branch and the 2 Marans. They all get along, and beside for about 20ish minutes in the morning when the alarms go off, they are quiet. During the day you may hear a grand total of 3 or 4 sporadic crows and that is it and while I love to hear a rooster crow, I do not want to hear it 24/7.

Oh you're making me sooooo hopeful about having roos... MAYBE the silkie and polish roo will continue to get along.. and be sweet.. and barely crow!! 💭🐓🐓🥰

Ok so we are in store for low 20s, sleet, and high winds!! The big girls have their coop clean, with water, food, and mini lantern. Anddd just before putting everyone up for the evening, both Daisy and Esmeralda left me an egg! Yippee!!

The little ones are inside chirping away at their slumber party!! I split them up based on who usually is hanging out together, and it worked! Peace in the livingroom! I do wish i could have kept them out though, Elsa finally chilled out, so i feel like the separation is going to restart drama. 🙄

Awww - two eggs for you, precious Daisy and Esmeralda 🥰

Your 'emergency' setup is adorable :love They are all so sweet ❤️

...but it helps a lot that you know now that Elsa can accept the new situation :thumbsup
