Wasn't sure if that made u happy or sad!
So went with sad...this is the only man I will ever have...marriage is difficult - even of this is our 30th anniversary this year!
Chickens n Roos are a lot easier![]()
I totally get it!I am indifferent. glad I can mind my own business. men I met when I was younger were useless. the few good ones were already taken. so I enjoy what I have - chickens and garden. they make me happy (and food as well!).
I am so sorry for your loss.Sad night here. The one little mille fleur baby I was worried about having possible omphalitis did indeed have it. She was fine for the first couple days but today the navel broke open spilling the yolk and the poor baby had her intestines come out of the hole. It was too big to patch up and there was just no way I could find to keep her intestines in so we had no choice but to cull. First time having to do that with a chick here but I know it was the right decision. RIP sweet little one.![]()
All are welcome!I don't know if I'm butting into the conversation, but I think silkies are hilarious! They are super fluffy and walk funny. I don't have chickens currently, but when I do I've added silkies to the list.
They are so sweet and friendly, and eggs are a bonus!! They make great friends with other bantam breeds too (pushing the addiction before you even get a taste)!I don't know if I'm butting into the conversation, but I think silkies are hilarious! I have a feeling my teenie tiny girl will remain teenie tiny too!! Excited to see her grow (a little bit more)!Yes, she is pretty awesome!Too bad there are no shows here or I would definitely show her. She is also tiny, weighs under 2 lbs.

Oh goodness that beard is too adorable!!!Congratulations on the hatch!
Hmm well it would take a lot of work as porcelain is a rather complicated color. It's mille fleur (which is complicated as well) but with lavender added. Blue cream is a whole different thing that used to be called porcelain but the name blue cream was adopted as it didn't match the genetics of porcelain birds in other breeds. Blue cream is somewhat similar but doesn't have mottling.
Depending on how much work you are willing to take on you could start a porcelain satin project with porcelain d'uccles crossed with your handsome boy there. He would not be as good of a choice as certain other colors though (like mille fleur). If I couldn't find porcelain from a satin breeder and wanted to take the path of least resistance I'd probably see about crossing a mille fleur satin with a blue cream satin or silkie to start a porcelain project (a self blue would work too as they are lavender as well). Still a bit of work but not having to fight to get back to silkie/satin type would be a huge time saver. It would still be a few generations before you could get to the porcelain coloration though. Lavender and mottling both being recessive complicate things and then the pattern genes needing to be homozygous for the correct patterning would hold things up too.
Oh that is wonderful you might be able to get some babies from her! She really is such a gorgeous girl!![]()
