Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Ugh, well today was all over the place…and ended with a missing Silkie :-( Cher got scared of the landscapers blower and managed to squeeze under a small hole and disappeared. I’m not sure where to even begin looking for her because it’s dark and she’s black and makes zero noise. We don’t have tons of predators but enough that she’s not safe for long if she’s still somewhere in the yard :-( My daughter spent the rest of the night sobbing and looking everywhere in the yard with a flashlight…so far there’s not even evidence of where and how she escaped—I’m just assuming. Everyone else is here and accounted for and we didn’t have anything in the run or the cameras would have caught it. I’m so mad at myself for not making absolutely sure the run had zero open spots :-(

So both cockrels have begun a weird thing...4 months old...they appear to be making a nest so to speak and they do this low talking repeatedly...I'll try to grab a video next time but it is really unusual!

Did yall find her this morning? I sure hope she's ok! I had a scare with my Zoe the other day so I cannot imagine!

I would assume she found something to squeeze under and immediately went to sleep once it was dark. Look under things, between/inside buckets, between fencing and other objects, she just might be hidden in some nook and cranny. Hoping for the best!!! ❤

We found her!!! YAY!!! She was in the big chicken coop squeezed down in the poop bin! Blended right in with all the poop! I did not think to look in the poop bin But now she’s snuggled up under my chin and talking to me. Probably telling me how scary last night was poor girl!
