My OGs were from Alabama Silkies. Only 2 left, but they are lovely birds. 🥰
Adorable chicks! Your rooster looks mixed color with some columbian type markings. Will be cool to see how the chicks feather out.😊
I was so happy to receive Poof Poof as she's a solid color with a great PooF on top. She's smaller than the two males I have, so I suspect the babies will be in-between in size. So from what I've read, I have a 50/50 chance at solids or paints. I needed some solid colored babies to eventually put with my blue splash boys (also a gift and also from AS).
At 8 weeks they are still in the baby crib brooder on the front deck.. I count 2 males and 3 females so far.

Yes that’s about right! Your boy does not look paint but he definitely could be! Likely has some other colors mixed in his background due to the leakage.
When I crossed my paint rooster to blue Partridge I got blue, black, blue paint and black paint chicks (these chicks are then recessive to Partridge and will likely have leakage in the males). Crossed with a splash I got blue chicks and blue paint chicks.😊

Thanks for that information! Always excited to know what to cross with what. Dad isn't a splash as far as I under stand since the coloring follows along the whole shaft of the feather.

Beautiful babies!!!

This is General Lee.. I have him with a Beilefelder/EE cross hen that's super fluffy and was the runt of her hatch. She gets along very well with the General, and has produced some really cute girls and boys. Would you say he had Partridge in his background?

He was my first silkie.. I fell in love with him the moment I spotted him.

And handsome boy ya got there too!
Poof Poof is not quite a year old so I was surprised when she went to sitting.. I had be letting the eggs stay in the nest until there were ten, then taking them... he he, the last bunch she was sitting on.. She's thrown a few out of the nest along the way, but when I counted Friday there were 10 left. And then Yesterday SuRpRiSe!
