Shoot... maybe i should have tried a collar first!! But its ok, hes w a family and 6 hens and gets a nice safe yard to free range in. Now my girls are back to crowing.

I didn't have any luck with the collars. Finally just sent em back hoping they refund me still!

Still holding out Bluey is a girl!!!
Large comb yes...personality of a roo no.
Even head feathers seem pretty tame and only difference I see is the part at front from the comb...otherwise looks a lot like Lizzie! Sorry for the blurred pic...

Teddy wears a collar, he dosen't crow early but will go All. Day. Long. and set off the big boy who then has to prove HE is the boss.

Yesssss, ours is constantly going off and it’s so hilarious. Hopefully it doesn’t get much louder We’re technically not supposed to have roos lol. Our BCM isn’t overly repetitive and now the Welsummer doesn’t crow at all. Karen and Kevin, Isabella, and the younger Polish unnamed (and I guess Timmy, oops!) haven’t crowed yet. Rocky doesn’t count right???? Just because he’s decided to move in, he’s not realllllllly ours still….

I modified a velcro cable tie for him. The collars didnt seem like they would work very well on a banty.

I hear ya..but I've seen a few in here that did turn out to be female, not satins...but other breeds that had big combs.
The thing about Bluey is that she has the odd colorings on her feet and beak which makes me hopeful she's just an oddball girl!
One can hope right?!

Luckily I have found a way to sleep right through the crowing with so many roosters around her, including an OEGB in the house. He's quite the character.
On another note, these are two of my silkie crosses from a bantam BO and General Lee. He's also the silkie that is giving the black cap on some of his offspring. Is this what you would call partridge pattern on a smooth feathered chicken? If that is the case, then it confirms my suspicion that Gen Lee has partridge in his background.

So, my first silkie rooster had to have the cha gene. I doubt seriously if momma has it being Bielefelder x EE. They produced two black headed babies while the body color was totally different.
