Have any of you silkie lovers watched this video?

I have seen it before, such a great momma! 🥰

Does anyone know what color my silkie is? View attachment 3177754

Hmm I'm not exactly sure the most correct term for the color but it is somewhat close to Columbian. It's not recognized in silkies but you'll see gray breeders having some kind of like him popping up sometimes which I've seen them referring to as columbian grays. His base is probably similar to a grays but with the addition of columbian like restrictors which restrict the eumelanin (black) to certain areas of the body (like the tail). Your boy has even more white/silver than most of these Columbian grays do which is definitely neat. He is a very pretty boy, I just love his color! 😍

look to me like sort of columbian mix if there is such a thing.

Hey you heat wave folks with high humidity... @AngBantamLuv and @kurby22 do yall do any kind of wading pools or anything for the silkies and satins to get in to cool their feet down?
From what I understand the bottoms of their feet help regulate body temp.
Poor Bluey is the worst affected with her being darker than others. But even the d'uccles are panting now it's so bad here.
I have been sitting them on ice cubes for few seconds at a time to try and bring their temps down...as well as all the other usual stuff like hosing down run, ice in waterers, frozen fruits and electrolytes in separate water and large fan in coop. But there's no end on sight and I don't wanna lose any!
Just thought I'd see if yall had ever tried that with the feathered feet babies we all have!
I use shallow pans with ice water freeze water bottles for their water bucket ( I use poultry cups on 5 gallon food grade buckets) frozen vegetables and fruits in ice . 90 % breathable shade cloth on sides of run .
