My Lil Ms Puff Meister laid her first egg yesterday at 23 weeks of age. I'm so tickled.. Here's 3 generations of eggs side by side.. Grandma, Mother, and Puff - daughter/granddaughter.

well out of the original 6 'pullets' from TSC, 5 of them turned out to be roos.. And not all BSLs either.. there was one BR roo, and one Cockoo Marans in the lot!

Holy Moley! Ms Sara (BR x Silkie-Svort Hona cross) has been sitting on a nest of eggs for 11 days.. Yesterday her daughter Raven who is half her size, took over the nest leaving mom to sit on the ledge outside of the nest. That was the first time Sara has ever sit eggs and she's 2 now. Raven is a year old.

It definitely sounds horrid!!!
We sat down to eat and my DH said do u hear that!? One of them is getting killed by the other or something in the run!!!
Checked camera and it's Joey sending lil Bluey to the coop! Then Daisy and Lizzy go running and bump into everything they go past!
I mean poor Daisy is so bad she screams if a fly lands on her!!!
Oh my babies!!!

On another note how many of yall have other breeds!?
I'm so excited I just got 2 baby lil bantam cochins!!!
So that makes me have...let's see

Silkies
D'uccles
Cochin!!!

I'm not counting em all though!

you think so? I wanted naked necks only and soon ended up with 6 coops for 6 breeds

I'm up to 11 pens now. Need to get the bachelor pad cleared out! And have to build a new free range area with hut for these two monkeys! They are Narragansett, Spanish Black cross T U R K E Y S.

She's the orange girl on the right turned out completely normal so nothing was wrong with her toe, just bored chickies I think.

Yeah after wrapping it for 2 or 3 days with meds on it and takin it off...she picked at it for couple hours off and on. Every now and then others would give it at peck. No blood.
I tried the dust bath to distract em but that only made her sit on edge with it right in their faces and pecked at worse.
So i put em all on in pine shavings instead of paper towels and bingo! Preoccupied and no more toe peckin!!!

Well I was a thunkin' if I crossed my EE with the Beilefelder the offspring would have larger eggses. My little Beilefelder hen lays the HUGEST eggs. Not so the crosses. I expected gen 3 with the silkie cross to lay smaller eggs of course and voila! Puff lays darker eggs than mom thought.

And Thanks! Granny is still kicking butt in her flock!
