Collected up chicks from a mixed pen to check feet and discard shells. Still some eggs to hatch in there. Father is a partridge silkie. Mothers are partridge silkie, cochin/silkie, and cochin/silkie (with some ameraucana in their background). So some of these should lay blue eggs.

Man I have dreams of those colors!!!
N blue eggs too!?
Wow!!!
Congratulations beautiful!

By Luck, I have become a Silkie breeder. They took over the coop by way of being the Healthiest bunch and reproduced like mice. The more expensive breeds I had just could not pick up so now I only keep Silkies.

Some pics of them.

Recessive White cockerel(6 month of age), he is Supposed to be White but he shows lots of cream colors on tail, hackle and saddle.

Beautiful red pullet @nicalandia! I have a few "reds" but they are more of a slightly darker color than a buff. Where did you get yours from?

So today two of my new to laying silkies decided to go broody together. My girls like to go broody in pairs. It is hot here in Louisiana so I'm hoping they'll be able to stick with it. I opened their coop door so they could get some fresh air and breezes.

I have some broody hens going at it in Lower Alabama (LA, it's a joke), and you can't get them off the nest for love nor money.. Feathering protects them from not only cold, but hot weather as well. Good luck with your hatch. Poof Poof is building up another clutch of eggs to hatch... I'm going to sneak some of Puff Meister's eggs in there too, substitution style.

I hatched her from a Red Silkie Rooster and a Recessive White hen, this cross gave me all the birds I have. the Red male has been culled due to crooked spine issue that was inherited by some of his offspring. His replacement is his White Son with proper spine development.
