Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Ohww so cute! Can't wait the many months till you find out what colours they look like and if some lay blue eggs! I'd love some Silkie look alikes laying blue!

Most of the eggs were blue, so there is a 50/50 chance on those. They will be staying in the mixed pen.

The actual partridge chicks are just a little bigger than the others. Their coloring is obvious so no mistaking anyone.

By Luck, I have become a Silkie breeder. They took over the coop by way of being the Healthiest bunch and reproduced like mice. The more expensive breeds I had just could not pick up so now I only keep Silkies.

Some pics of them.

Recessive White cockerel(6 month of age), he is Supposed to be White but he shows lots of cream colors on tail, hackle and saddle.

Those are some nice looking silkies! I love the red hen, she’s very pretty!

Decided to let the girls run amok in the yard this morning.. they loved it!

Minnie did what i expected (fly to me). It was interesting how the old girls and new girls stuck together in their own groups. My silkie and polkie (Bambina and Betty) are always side by side.

Mara, my BCM hatched 3 chicks out of a stockpile (hens were adding daily) and I'm trying to figure out who was the momma of this lil booper.. Shall we play a game?

It wasn't Bonnie's, her's all look like mini BOs, It wasn't Peg's because there wasn't an empty eggshell matching hers (Welsommer, not hard to determine). So, it was either Starshine (BSL mix) or Twist (Cinnamon Queen)... I suspect Sunshine.

And the Bonus chick was this lil stinker.. A tri colored speckled:

What's neat about this, every single baby follows mom's coloring while dad shrinks the kids and adds leg feathers.
