Most of the eggs were blue, so there is a 50/50 chance on those. They will be staying in the mixed pen.

The actual partridge chicks are just a little bigger than the others. Their coloring is obvious so no mistaking anyone.

So what would I need breed to have blue egg laying Silkies? .. there was a thread that popped up with someone who had Silkies looking exactly like Silkies but laid blue eggs, amazing how they looked no different to purebred Silkies!

I dont name most of them.

I had been naming my partridge roosters after Dragonball Z saiyans for several years. Ran out of names and only Broly is still around.

The white silkies got named after volcanic products. Ashes the rooster, hens Pumice, Tuff, Lahar, and Perlite

All of our birds get Japanese names since my daughter is studying Japanese.
Here is Himawari with her adopted baby, Kai. Little one is about 3 1/2 weeks old. Baby is quite wild and not near as tame as my hand raised babies. Hopefully she’ll get tamer. DNA sexed female. She is feathering in that super light blue color I was aiming for. I think her mother might be Kana so she may end up with some partridge leakage later.
They are in a cornered off section of the coop but I let them out into the larger area when the other birds are out on the grass. Broody Hanabi was trying to get back in.
