Yes my two OGs are from Alabama Silkies hatched from eggs. They keep hundreds of Silkies I believe and sell eggs all over the place, used to sell them worldwide but I think that has stopped. They donate a lot of their eggs to the local food banks in their area as well. Good people. Though when I asked for lavender Silkies I got splash. I had an excellent hatch rate considering they came all the way to Hawaii. They pack their eggs very well.Has anyone bought hatching eggs from Alabama Silkies before?
One of the boys had a single comb though and one was actually a satin, what they call a “sizzle“. He was quite lovely but at the time I wasn’t breeding satins so he went to a friend who needed new bloodlines.
One of the hens was beardless. I believe they keep their flock divided by colors but do not differentiate between beardless and bearded and the occasional satin. They do say this on their website as well.
You will likely hatch out both vaulted and non-vaulted chicks as well. I only kept the two that did not have a vaulted skull and had full beards.
Photos of my two girls from them. The only two I have left from the original.
They are both gorgeous, weigh around 2 lbs and as far as I can tell “show quality“. They both have been producing beautiful chicks for me.
